The 3-year project is based on a consortium of 18 institutions from 10 european countries. The coordination is with Teagasc (Ireland), a national agency for the development of agriculture and food security. The German participation in the consortium is carried out by the Institute of Animal Welfare and Animal Husbandry of Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI Celle) - it is taking the lead in the work package Animal Health & Welfare - and by the Federal Association for Beef and Pig (BRS Bonn).
The project aims to promote sustainable beef cattle farming. Thus, researchers, advisors, farmers and other relevant interest groups from nine EU member states will be involved in nine national and four transnational network groups for greater knowledge transfer.
