Institute of Infectology (IMED)

Laboratory for Rodent Ecology and Associated Pathogens

The Laboratory for Rodent Ecology and Associated Pathogens focuses on the study of pathogens transmitted by rodents to animals or humans. Its aim is to understand the ecological, genetic, and environmental factors that influence the distribution and dynamics of these pathogens.

At the core of the laboratory’s activities lies an interdisciplinary network of researchers from zoology, ecology, virology, microbiology, parasitology, genetics, epidemiology, forestry, and climate science, working closely with experts in human and veterinary medicine. This network – NAP-Net (Rodent-associated Pathogens- Network) – promotes collaboration across basic research, applied epidemiology, and One Health approaches.
