  1. Formation of the nuclear egress complex (NEC), partial solubilization of the underlying lamina and docking of the nucleocapsid
  2. Oligomerization of the NEC results in membrane deformation of the inner nuclear membrane
  3. Primary enveloped virion in the perinuclear space
  4. Fusion of the primary virion envelope with the outer nuclear membrane releases the capsid into the cytoplasm (Hellberg et al., 2016)
