Options for actions with regard to the Asian Tiger Mosquito

Short Messages

The recently founded expert committee “Biting midges as vectors of pathogenic agents“ presents its first concept paper on the need of and options for actions with regard to the Asian Tiger Mosquito in Germany. The Asian Tiger Mosquito is known as possible vector of various causative agents of infectious diseases. The occurrence of the Asian Tiger Mosquito in Germany should be monitored intensively particularly in view of globalization and extreme climate conditions as well as the recently steady increase of detected specimens. Control measures should therefore include prevention, surveillance and pest control.

The detailed options for actions are available in German language only.
